"What blue? I absolutely do not know what you are talking about!

The first use of Blue was the sensation of love, the desire to generate a feeling through a color.

It evolve with my projects month after month. It is a color that has so many nuances and possibilities and that can express so many different feelings and souvenirs. It can be bright as well as sad and cold."

  • INTERVIEW

If you could have a meal with any artist from any time: What would the meal be,  who would it be with and why?

I would love to share a meal at Miki restaurant, its Japanese and it remind me the meal I was sharing with my family when i was a child during my summers in Japan. It warm my heart and I taste like my dreams.

It would be champagne with Helen Frankenthaler because she was a wonderful "Mondaine" to get fun with colorful starters and a Bon appetite with Shirley Jaffe. Main conversation about marriage of the art and design with Sonia Delaunay

Vegan cheese with flowers with a pincée of spirituality with Georgia O Keef and crazy spicy feminity cakes with Fridah for the dessert.

Perfect answer! What is the first thing you do in the morning, and how do you unwind each evening?

Every day is a new experience. I don't practice so many rituals since I like to live new experiences, there are however some things that I enjoy in my daily life and that are following the seasons. In winter I perfume the apartment and the workshop with an essential oil of pin, it gives me the impression when I close my eyes to be in the heart of the forest and to breathe.

I also have a lot of candles lit throughout the day, the natural light warms my mind and accompanies my thoughts with serenity. I often take bathes in which I mix orange and lemon zest and sometimes nettles powder and I marinate in them while reading a book. It is all these little everyday details that makes me feel good in my place of work, to welcome the viewers who love my artwork and to share a fragment of my thoughts with them.

And then, what inspires you each day Tiffany?

I gain my inspiration from many diverse themes, but my passion is mainly focused on the place of the woman in her environment and in her intimate relationship with her body.I like to raise taboo subjects through a minimalistic aesthetic. So I would say that the inspiration comes from my experiences, from the books I read on this subject as well as from social articles on the evolution of this subject. I am very interested in the psychological aspect and the impact of social networks on our self-esteem, for shapes and colors, my passion for design, architecture and my summers spent with my grandfather who practiced calligraphy also have a great place in the forms that I use to express all these subjects. I believe that grief and pain are also subjects that touch me just as independence and strength moves me, I like to express these contrasts that are often present in the same person. I find human behavior fascinating

  • WHAT IS YOUR STUDIO LIKE? DO YOU LISTEN TO ANYTHING WHILE YOU WORK, OR HAVE ANY OTHER RITUALS?

My studio is constantly changing; I move objects, tables, and I have the impression that things will never be in the right place. I remember when I was a teenager, I moved all of my furniture and changed the decoration three times a year, as if I needed to change my living environment in order to start again, I quickly get bored of everything. VERY VERY QUICKLY. I don't know yet where this need for evolution, for change comes from. (to explore)

I listen to a lot of classical music and opera it keeps me from getting agitated, I get drunk very easily by music and it would be problematic to move the buttocks and shoulders while painting.

Could you select a piece of your work and tell me a bit about it?

I would like to tell you about the work "the next day," which was produced as part of a performance. This painting addresses domestic violences and the impact of toxic relationships. During this period of confinement, I don't know about you, but in France and Japan the violence against women in their homes was terrible... the statistics were unbearable, and it seemed important to me to present the subject on my social networks during the second confinement to sensitize as many people as possible to this issue, which can unfortunately occur literally above their heads. Because of social networks we have become very egocentric and this can bring us to acts of strange selfishness in times of fear, but I believe the internet remains a great way to raise awareness to and unblock topics such as this one by directly talking with people.
